New York’s real-estate industry has long played a significant role in funding candidates of both major parties. But as voters focus on the housing crisis and the state’s broken campaign finance laws, some progressive Democrats have begun to reject real-estate money.

After years of fighting for these reforms, we can start to rebuild the broken trust New Yorkers have in the NYPD by bringing more transparency and accountability to everyday interactions. But to do this, we need full and immediate cooperation from the NYPD and the Mayor’s Office.
The more moderate Cuomo may have new battles on his hands with a Legislature controlled by his party-mates as opposed to the split control that allowed him to triangulate.
