They’re coming this way.
Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj (of the 80th District, encompassing Allerton, Bedford Park, Morris Park, Mosholu Parkway, Norwood, Pelham Gardens, Pelham Parkway and Van Nest) has organized a forum for mayoral candidates this Sunday, June 2, to focus on the Boogiedown. “The Bronx Vote Must be Earned!” his flier demands.
Jordan Moss of the Bronx Bureau and two other borough journalists—Alex Kratz of the Norwood News and Kate Pastor of The Riverdale Press—will be the panelists. BronxTalk host Gary Axelbank will moderate the forum.
So far Democrats Sal Albanese, Bill de Blasio, John Liu, Christine Quinn, Erick Salgado and Bill Thompson, Republican George McDonald, Independence Party nominee Adolfo Carrion, Anthony Gronowicz of the Green Party, Ceceilia Berkowitz and Carl Person have said they plan to attend.
The event, from 4 to 7 p.m., is at Christopher Columbus High School Auditorium, 925 Astor Ave. (near Pelham Parkway). Audience members are encouraged to arrive early, since seating is limited, and to bring written questions. Their use depends on time constraints.
