Last month, when New York first began vaccinating residents for COVID-19, the city and state was criticized for moving too slowly in distributing its allocated doses. This month, however, just as those efforts were finally speeding up, officials are facing a different challenge – a shortage of doses, which forced the city to cancel thousands of New Yorkers’ vaccination appointments last week.
