If even C-SPAN and Crosswalks aren’t enough to quench your thirst for raw debate and unedited testimony, you’re in luck. Last week, the New York State Assembly and State Senate decided to start broadcasting legislative debates live over the Internet.
The decision follows the recommendation of a joint Senate/Assembly task force, who after a year’s research concluded that the Internet was the best way to make legislative chat available to New York State residents.
To listen to the Senate (currently out of session), go to www.senate.state.ny.us. The Assembly link is at www.assembly.state.ny.us/Audio/, for those looking to perfect their Shelly Silver impersonation. The next session starts Thursday at 11 am.
