Upcoming Housing and Land Use-Related Events:
Wednesday, Nov 16 at 11:30 a.m.: Mayor Eric Adams will announce more details of a plan to build a soccer stadium for the club NYCFC and a 2,500-unit housing complex in Willets Point, next to Citi Field, during a press conference at the Queens Museum. The event will be live-streamed here on the city’s website and will be available on the mayor’s YouTube channel.
Thursday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m.: The City Council Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Sitings and Dispositions is holding a meeting to discuss various landmark proposals in Brooklyn and Staten Island. The meeting will be held in the Committee Room at City Hall and will be streamed on the Council website. More information here.
Thursday, Nov. 17 at 11:45 a.m.: Public housing residents from across New York City will rally at City Hall ahead of the City Council’s committee on public housing hearing to stand up for their rights and demand real resident engagement. The public comment period for proposed rules associated with the NYCHA Preservation Trust plan ends Nov. 23. More information on submitting comments can be found here.
Thursday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.: The Council’s Committee on Public Housing is holding a hearing on resident engagement and outreach. The hearing will be held in the committee room at City Hall and will be streamed on the Council website. More information here.
Thursday, Nov. 17 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: The Pew Charitable Trusts will host a virtual panel on the Homeowner Assistance Fund for property owners facing financial hardship. Panelists will discuss program eligibility and reach. The event will stream live. Register here.
Thursday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m.: The National Coalition for the Homeless will host a virtual town hall meeting. Join the Zoom conference here.
Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 9:30 a.m.: The Landmarks Preservation Commission is holding a public meeting with respect to landmark proposals in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. More information here.
