  • Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Public Housing will an oversight hearing on rent arrears and evictions at NYCHA, related to public housing’s early exclusion from the state’s emergency COVID rent relief program. More here.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Sitings and Dispositions will meet about the following landmark applications: Malcolm Shabazz Harlem Plaza, Brooklyn Edison Building, 1 Wall Street Banking Room, and the Willoughby Hart Historic District.   • Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m.: Brooklyn Community Board 7’s Land Use/Landmarks Committee will present a motion for the full board to vote on regarding the Arrow Linen land use application. The meeting will be streamed live here.
  • Thursday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Governmental Operations, State & Federal Legislation will hold an oversight hearing on the accessibility of city-owned buildings, including bills that would require the restrooms of city buildings be open to the public, and another giving two-year notice to tenants in city-leased properties when their lease or rental agreement is set to expire.   • Thursday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Land Use will meet regarding a bill that would require the city to include a certain portion of affordable homeownership opportunities among the affordable housing it finances each year. More here.
  • Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.: Neighborhood Housing services of Brooklyn CDC, inc., will host a workshop on how to apply for the city’s affordable housing lotteries at the Eastern Parkway Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. More here.
  • Saturday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m.: State Sen. Roxanne Persaud’s office will host a housing resource fair at the Canarsie High School Campus in Brooklyn. More here.
  • Monday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Aging will meet regarding a bill that would require a study about the needs of older New Yorkers living in naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs). More here.
