‘There’s a whole movement nationwide to make transportation free. I will be leading that initiative,’ Rodriguez said Wednesday during a press conference about the planned expansion of Fair Fares, an existing city program that offers half-priced MetroCards to certain residents living at or below the poverty line.
The Jerome Avenue rezoning deal included the formation of a task force on local health issues. The public has been identifying its top concerns, some of which relate to the very development the rezoning is bringing.
‘Perhaps it’s time to impose a tiered tolling system that takes in account an automobile’s fuel performance. Or maybe it’s just time to just ban SUVs from congested cities like New York altogether.’
