The last day of LeAp’s SummerQuest program on August 7 at PS 69X on Thierot Avenue in the Bronx. THe program teachers ELA, math, science, and social studies to kids going into first grade through fifth grade. The summer, the program says, kids made “visits to the The American Museum of Natural History to study NYC in 1600s, Van Cortlandt Park to build fishing rods and fish like the Lenape Indians, Brooklyn Bridge to see how NYC has changed, Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to reenact the life of the Coney Island Indians, and from Eldridge Street synagogue and Chinatown to Ellis Island to understand the immigrant experience.”
