The New York City Charter Revision Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 10th at 9 a.m. in the 3rd floor conference room of the Tweed Courthouse at 52 Chambers Street.

The commission, whose 15 members were appointed by the mayor, is considering changes to the way New York City is governed. The panel held a series of public hearings during April. Its next step is to hold “issue forums” featuring expert testimony on specific topics where the commission might recommend changes. Among the possible topics are term limits, the land use process and the role of city officials like borough presidents and the public advocate.

The commission could put questions to the voters in November, or wait until next year.

The meeting will be webcast at www.nyc.gov/charter.
