The man charged with burglarizing three Bronx

Two teenagers were shot, one fatally, inside a deli on Westchester and Wheeler Avenues in Bronx River early this morning. One victim, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene while another 19-year-old is in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center.This spat of youth violence comes just days after another boy, 14-year-old Philip Johnson, was shot to death in Williamsbridge Monday night
Tomorrow night, Community Board 6 will have its second annual youth talent show, this year inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr., and his message of peace. Here are some more details:”The theme of the event is ‘We Have a Dream.” One youth group will perform a skit on the topic of teenage dating and the hardships many youth of our time silently suffer. Along from the singing, dancing and poetry that will be showcased, we will have the five (5) youths that will receive this year’s Yankee Council Award read an excerpt of the ‘I Have a Dream’ speech as this conference is in honor and remembrance of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream for peace and equality.”The show is tomorrow night, at CS 211 at 1919 Prospect Avenue, from 6 to 9 p.m. Call Community Board 6 for more information: (718) 579-6990.More events are below, in our community calendar.
