With a category 4 rating and tropical storm-force winds up to 205 miles beyond its core as of Friday morning, Hurricane Joaquin is still a dangerous storm—immediately for the Bahamas, and potentially for others. But the latest National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecast has the storm swinging away from the Eastern seaboard. Since it emerged as a threat over the weekend, forecasts have gone back and forth on whether the storm might threaten the East Coast. All images are from the NHC:
